The Bergen County Juvenile Fire Prevention Program (BCJFPP) is one of the many innovative and unique programs offered by Care Plus NJ, Inc. (CarePlus). Established through a grass roots effort of interested individuals in this county’s fire and police service, juvenile justice and mental health field, the program began accepting referrals in 1987, with the main goal of preventing and treating juvenile fire setting.
BCJFPP MISSION STATEMENT
The Bergen County Juvenile Fire Prevention (The Program) in partnership with Care Plus NJ, Inc. (Care Plus) strives to provide information regarding the concerns of the residents of Bergen County with respect to the needs of juvenile fire setters and their families. The Program will act as an advocate for the juvenile fire setters and their families through research, dissemination of information, and professional expertise. The Program accomplishes this by providing fire safety education through a volunteer staff and counseling services through Care Plus to juvenile fire setters and their families.
